![]() Summer quidditch is well under way in central Alberta already, with more events to come. Our Monday evening Youth Quidditch program has grown this term to 17 athletes aged 9 through 15 years old. The program closes at the end of June but we hope to run some one-off youth and community events in July and August for fun and general engagement. Watch our Facebook page for events as we organize them. We were invited to participate in the Central Alberta Children's Festival this summer as well, and it was a great event. You can also try quidditch out at some camps in Red Deer and Edmonton, as well as some of the City of Red Deer playground programs. Our President attended the Alberta Sport Leadership Conference in Banff where she was able to connect with sport leaders from across the province, as well as local groups like PLAY Central. This should lead to some great opportunities for quidditch in the area and for activity for central Alberta. There are also two more quidditch events coming up in Alberta this summer: 1. Referee Development Clinic - June 20 - Red Deer
2. Cowboys and Dinosaurs Fantasy Tournament - July 25 - Calgary
And the Alberta Clipper Quidditch team are planning to restart practices in July, as well. So, there's lots going on in Red Deer, Central Alberta, and Alberta overall this summer. Come out to what you can, tell us what you love, and remember to share your summer quidditch adventures with us on social media!
